Agreement to these terms

About our services

Customize Home Idea provides home improvement and renovation services, including home décor and interior work, exterior and garden renovation, home security, fire safety, home loan and warranty guidance, roofing upgrades, solar upgrades, window replacement, flooring upgrades and bathroom remodeling. Content on this website is provided for general information. It does not constitute a quotation, a professional survey, engineering advice or a guarantee of any particular outcome.

Estimates and quotations

• Estimates are prepared in good faith based on the information available at the time, including the property visit and the scope you describe.
• A quotation becomes binding once it is accepted in writing and any deposit required under it is received.
• Prices may need to be revised if concealed conditions are discovered — for example hidden water damage, unstable substrates or non-compliant previous work. We will always explain the issue and obtain your written approval before proceeding.
• Material availability and supplier pricing can change. Where substitution is necessary, we will offer an equivalent or better option at no additional cost to you, or discuss alternatives.

Scheduling and access

We provide indicative start dates and durations. Timelines may shift because of weather, material lead times, access restrictions, inspection requirements or changes you request. You agree to provide safe and reasonable access to the work areas, along with water and power where required, during agreed working hours.

Changes to the work

Any change to the agreed scope must be requested in writing and confirmed by both parties before the additional work begins. Changes may affect the price and the completion date, and we will set out the impact clearly before you decide.

Payment terms

• A deposit may be required to reserve your dates and order materials.
• Interim payments may be scheduled at agreed milestones, with the balance due on completion.
• Invoices are payable within the period stated on the invoice unless otherwise agreed in writing.
• Late payments may attract interest or suspension of work, as set out in your contract.
• Ownership of materials passes to you once they have been paid for in full.

Client responsibilities

• Provide accurate information about the property, including known defects, service locations and any restrictions such as listed status or homeowner association rules.
• Secure pets and remove valuables, fragile items and irreplaceable belongings from work areas.
• Obtain any permissions, consents or approvals required from landlords, associations or co-owners.
• Decide on selections such as finishes, fixtures and colours within the agreed timeframes so the schedule can be maintained.

Cancellations

You may cancel a project in writing. Where cancellation occurs after materials have been ordered or work has started, you remain responsible for costs reasonably incurred, including bespoke items that cannot be returned and labour already performed. We may cancel or reschedule work where site conditions are unsafe, where required permissions are missing or where agreed payments are overdue.

Warranty

We warrant our workmanship for the period stated in your contract, provided the work is used normally and maintained as advised. Manufacturer warranties on materials, fixtures and equipment are passed to you and registered where possible. The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, third-party alterations, extreme weather events, or normal wear and tear. Warranty support is coordinated through our home loan and warranty service.

Intellectual property

All content on this website — text, graphics, layout, logos and images — belongs to Customize Home Idea or is used with permission, and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use. Design drawings and proposals we prepare for your project remain our intellectual property until paid for in full, and may not be reused for work carried out by another contractor without written consent.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability arising from any project is limited to the value of the contract for that project. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, loss of use or accommodation costs, except where such liability cannot be excluded by law. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in the State of Ohio, United States, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts serving that state. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
